Emi tip toed down the giant staircase that led to the bottom of the stairs, and let out all the air she didn’t realize she was holding in her lungs when she realized nobody was home. She was currently avoiding her parents at all costs, not wanting to explain herself. She knew it would happen sometime, but she preferred for that day to come not in the near future. Grabbing a pen and paper out of the drawer, she wrote a quick note on it in her curly lettered handwriting. ’Went to the pool, be back soon. xoxo Emi’ Grabbing a magnet, Emi hung the note onto the fridge before making her way out of the door.
Emi did not want to show up at the pool by herself, so she had invited Jack to come with her. Emi loved spending time with Jack, and looked at him as if he was another older brother. Emi got into her black Range Rover, and started to her destination of the neighborhood pool. As soon as she pulled into the parking lot, she opened up her door to smell the chlorine mixed with sunscreen. It was finally summer, and it made her smile. Grabbing a towel, sunscreen, her ‘pool’ bag, and slipping her sunglasses over her eyes, Emi locked the car doors and made her way into the pool.
“JACK!” Emi smiled, and ran over to him, setting all her belongings in a giant pile next to his. ”Thanks for coming! It’s such a good day for the pool.” Emi smiled and let out a happy sigh. ”What have you been up too? I feel like it’s been forever.” Emi pulled the sunglasses off her eyes, and had them resting on her forehead.
